Unwind at the Kozhikode Beach, also known as the Calicut Beach, located by the Arabian sea. This is an excellent spot to witness the sunset, and try some street food and snacks. The beach is buzzing with activities for the whole family to indulge in, such as camel rides, beach volleyball, and horseback riding.
Hop over to Mananchira Square, another excellent and spacious venue to sit back and relax in the middle of the city. The star attraction of this square is the central pond surrounded by well-manicured gardens with pedestrian walkways. There are several local fast-food joints and restaurants nearby, and visitors can enjoy a serene boat ride too.
If you have an extra day in Calicut, you can head to the Pazhassiraja Museum and Art Gallery or the Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary. Both venues are educational and showcase some of the best artworks and bird species found in the region.
If you're short on time, you may choose to skip Mananchira Square and explore the Beypore Fort instead. The fort was built by the Portuguese in the 15th century and is a historic and grand structure. It's located 10 minutes (4 km) from Kozhikode Beach.
