Kudremukh National Park is a nature lover's paradise, with lush green hills, meandering rivers, and beautiful waterfalls. Home to tigers, leopards, and other wild animals, you can take a trek through the hills. Take a dip in the beautiful cascading falls of Hanumanagundi and Kudremukh. You can set out for a morning trek and then explore the rest of the park in an evening.
Rise early to catch the sunrise on top of the Mullayanagiri Hill, the tallest peak in Karnataka. The hike is demanding but worth it to watch the landscape come alive with the daylight. The route follows the scenic backdrop of the western ghats which is covered with greenery through the year, and the viewers will be amazed at the views of the hills on the horizon. The majestic landscape is sure to leave you feeling awe-inspired all through the day.
The Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary is another place where you can spend your day exploring the abundant wildlife like elephants, tigers, gaurs, and many exotic and endangered species of birds too. The wildlife sanctuary is the perfect place to finish your trip with its untouched forest area making it perfect for a jungle trek and wildlife spotting.
For those with an extra day, we suggest a coffee tour as the Chikmangalur district is known for its coffee production. If you have less time, we recommend either skipping Mullayanagiri or Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary and adding a day trip to nearby Hebbe Falls or Deviramma temple instead. Pack comfortable shoes, sunscreen, hats, and insect repellent for the hikes. Make sure to carry your ID cards and enough cash as it may be challenging to find ATMs in the national parks.
