The Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Center is a great place to start your day trip, featuring over 57 hectares of land surrounded by a lake. A wildlife sanctuary and a park rolled into one, here you can find more than 100 species of birds and animals, including two Philippine eagles named Pag-asa and Kalinawan, as well as a butterfly garden.
The Masungi Georeserve is a conservation area and geological park that showcases stunning rock formations that have been around for over 60 million years. A visit here means getting up close and personal with nature while traversing rope bridges, spider webs, and rock scrambling activities.
Spend your mid-afternoon at the Pililla Wind Farm, passing through its rolling hills, and enjoying its windy fresh air. The wind farm has 27 wind turbines that produce sustainable and renewable energy for the local communities. The farm offers a spectacular view of the Laguna de Bay and the mountains of Tanay and Rizal from the top.
Located southeast of Manila, Mt. Daraitan offers a scenic view of the Sierra Madre Mountains awaits hikers who are up for the challenging trek. The highlight of the climb is crossing the Tinipak River, a crystal-clear stream with picturesque limestone rock formations by the riverbanks.
If you have more time, you could add a visit to the Calinawan Cave and Daranak Falls, which are around 40 minutes from Mt. Daraitan. For those who want to cut the itinerary short, you can remove Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Center or Mt. Daraitan, but it's highly recommended to stick to the itinerary to experience the beauty of nature in Kandili truly.
