Janardhana Swamy Temple is centuries-old, built-in 12th Century A.D and a revered shrine for followers of Lord Vishnu in Varkala. It houses an impressive statue of Lord Vishnu and the intricate carvings and drapings over it are a sight to behold.
Kappil Lake is a delightfully quaint spot with clear azure waters located a mere stone’s throw away from the Arabian Sea. A scenic ride on a rented boat or cruise in the backwaters will give you a taste of the local life, mangroves, and coconut groves. You can also enjoy a quick swim in the lake’s shallow waters.
End the trip at the Varkala Cliff, a bustling strip lined with trendy cafes and a plethora of shops selling souvenirs and beachwear.
