The Nubra Valley is famous for the cold desert, the double-humped Bactrian camel, monasteries, and the highest motorable road, Khardungla Pass, which is at an altitude of 18,380 ft (5,602 m).
The Pangong Tso Lake is an endorheic lake situated at an altitude of 14,270 ft (4,350m). The lake extends from India to Tibet, with two-thirds of its length in China. It is also known for its beautiful shades of blue.
The Hemis National Park is a high altitude national park situated in the eastern Ladakh region. It is home to the endangered snow leopard, Tibetan wolf, red fox, and Eurasian brown bear.
The Tso Moriri Lake is a high altitude lake situated at 14,836 ft (4,522 m). It is surrounded by mountains and is home to an array of bird species like the black-necked crane, bar-headed goose, and Brahmini duck.
If you have more time, you can visit places like the Zanskar Valley, Magnetic Hill, and the Shanti Stupa. If you have less time, you can skip Hemis National Park. Remember to pack warm clothing, hats, and gloves as the temperature can drop to sub-zero levels. Drink plenty of water and carry medication for altitude sickness.
