Drive to the picturesque Nubra Valley; which is located at an altitude of over 10,000 feet and part of the Silk route. The valley is famous for its stunning natural landscapes like the Deskit Monastery and the world-renowned Pangong Tso Lake. Spend a night in the valley under the sky full of stars.
Visit the Deskit Monastery, the oldest and largest monastery of the Nubra Valley. Get a glimpse of the Maitreya Buddha statue inside the monastery. Next, experience an unparalleled adventure of Camel Safari in the sand dunes followed by a visit to the quaint Hunder village.
Explore the beautiful Tso Moriri Lake, which is located at an altitude of over 14,000 feet. En route get your permits checked at the Thasi check post and pay respects at the Chumathang Hot Springs. On the way back visit the beautiful observatory at Hanle. Overnight stay near Tso Moriri Lake.
Get up early in the morning to enjoy a beautiful sunrise at the Tso Moriri Lake.. Head back to Leh. Stop for breakfast at Chumathang. En route visit the Changla Pass, which is situated at an altitude of over 17,000 feet. You can also visit the Thiksey Monastery before reaching Leh in the evening.
If you want to skip one destination to add more adventure, you can opt to visit the Lamayuru village and the Alchi Monastery on Day 2. These two places are situated approximately 2 hours from Leh. If you have more time, you can add a visit to the Zanskar valley on Day 4. Pack essential medicines to avoid altitude sickness, and it is advisable to drink plenty of water during the trip.
