The average price for a car rental is usually €30-€60/day, and keeping in mind the petrol cost. Public buses are available, but they’re not very frequent, and travelling can be uncomfortable due to summer heat.
If you have more time, there are few other attractions to visit. Nidri has many boat tours around the island, where tourists can see neighbouring islands like Scorpios island, which is famous for being owned by Aristotle Onassis, and Meganissi. Another fantastic place to visit inland is Sivota village, which is a small charming town with a marina, cafe-bars, and restaurants serving delicious Greek food. Alternatively, if you have less time, you could narrow down the places and concentrate on the family desires.
Lefkada Airport (PVK), Aktion Airport, is located 18.5 km away from the city centre of Lefkada. There are several airlines flying from several European countries to the airport, such as EasyJet, Ryanair, and TUI Airways. If travelling from outside Europe, your best bet would be to connect via Athens or another gateway hub. Athens is reachable by ferry, and from there, visitors can take a bus for 4 hours (€20) or rent a car and drive the distance (4 hours, 375 km).
