Majestic Munnar, Kerala: A 2-Day Nature Escape

  1. Day 1: Echo Point and Kundala Lake

Take a 20 minutes boat ride here or enjoy a picnic on the scenic shores. The serene surroundings, clear waters, and thick forests around make it a perfect spot for photography and relaxation.

  2. Day 2: Eravikulam National Park and Top Station
    1 hour 20 minutes (36.2 km) from Echo Point

    Begin your day with a visit to the Eravikulam National Park, located atop the Western Ghats range, which is home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr species. Have a refreshing experience walking amidst lush green hills of this park. After, head towards the highest point in Munnar, Top Station which is situated at a height of 1700 meters. On a clear day, one gets to glimpse the neighbouring state Tamilnadu. Take a short hike to reach the viewpoint to enjoy the scenic beauty of the valley, sprawling tea estate and nearby hills covered with a blanket of clouds.

To make the best of these two days, start early in the morning to avoid queues at the attractions. Munnar is known for its climate, so carry woolen clothes and comfortable footwear. If you're coming in during the monsoon, don't forget your raincoats and umbrellas. Add a visit to the Tata Tea Museum, Marayoor Sandalwood Forest, Mattupetty Dam, and Anamudi to expand your itinerary if you have an extra day. On the other hand, if you're short on time, you can remove Kundala lake from Day 1 itinerary.
