Start your day with some fresh air and exercise at Catherine Falls, a stunning two-tiered waterfall that offers a thrilling hiking experience. Take the path down to the bottom of the falls to enjoy an invigorating dip in the natural pool. After the hike, pack a picnic lunch and fuel up with some great conversation, delicious food, and amazing views of the nearby hills. Make sure to bring plenty of water, sunscreen, and comfortable hiking shoes for the trek.
Kolimalai's surrounding hills are perfect for growing grapes for wine, and Sula Vineyards is a top-notch winery offering a memorable vineyard tour. Enjoy a guided stroll through the vineyards, learning about the grape varieties and the winemaking process. Then, head over to the tasting room and sample some of Sula's best wines while enjoying the spectacular view of the hills and valleys. Make sure to book your tour in advance, and don't forget to take home a bottle of your favorite wine from the gift shop as a souvenir.
If you have more time, you can explore more of Kolimalai's natural beauty by visiting the Azhagar Kovil Reserve Forest, which features multiple hiking trails. For a more relaxing activity, you can also take a dip in the hot springs at Suruli Falls.
If you have less time, you can skip the vineyard tour and spend more time at Catherine Falls, or vice versa. Make sure to check the opening and closing days and times of all the places you plan to visit, especially during the monsoon season (June-September), when some locations may be closed due to landslides or flooding.
