Start the day with a trip to the Edakkal Caves. These caves are located on Ambukutty Mala and are famous for their Neolithic cave art. The hike up to the caves can be a bit challenging, but the view from the top is worth it.
Chembra Peak is the highest peak in Wayanad and offers a challenging climb for adventure seekers. The hike is about 4.5 km long and takes about 3-4 hours. At the top, you'll get to see the heart-shaped lake, which is quite the sight to behold!
Banasura Sagar Dam is the largest earthen dam in India and is a popular tourist spot in Wayanad. You can take a boat ride on the dam or go trekking in the surrounding hills. The views of the lake and the hills are breathtaking!
Pookode Lake is a freshwater lake surrounded by lush green trees and hills. You can take a boat ride on the lake or go trekking in the nearby forests. There is also a small aquarium near the lake that showcases some of the local fish species.
If you have more time, you can also visit the Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary or the Thirunelli Temple. If you have less time, you can skip Banasura Sagar Dam or Pookode Lake. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and carry enough water and snacks for your hikes.
