The sanctuary also offers a night camping experience where you can listen to the sounds of the forest at night and gaze at the stars.
Escape to the beautiful Soochipara Falls located in the Vellarimala mountain range. With its mesmerising views and pristine waters, it's hard to resist taking a dip. Trek through the tea estates, swim in the pool beneath the falls or just lay back and enjoy the serene ambiance. Don't miss out on some delicious local snacks sold by vendors at the falls.
If you have more time, you can add a visit to the Edakkal Caves, an ancient rock shelter with prehistoric carvings. For a taste of local culture, visit the Uravu Bamboo Grove, where you can learn about traditional bamboo crafts and even try your hand at making bamboo products. If you have less time, you can skip the jungle camping experience in the Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary. It takes time to set up tents, and it may not be worth it for a short trip. Instead, take a shorter safari and head to Soochipara Falls earlier in the day to avoid the crowds.
