Family-Friendly 2-Day Itinerary for Chikkamagaluru

  1. Day 1: Mullayanagiri Peak
    25 minutes (9.3 km) from Chikkamagaluru City Centre

    Mullayanagiri Peak is the highest peak in Karnataka, standing at 1,930 meters above sea level. The trek to the peak is moderate, and it takes around 2 hours to reach the summit. You'll be surrounded by lush green forests all around, and the view from the top is breathtaking. Once you reach the highest point, you'll see that the Western Ghats stretch out into the horizon.

  2. Day 2: Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary
    1 hour 7 minutes (39.8 km) from Chikkamagaluru City Centre

    Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary is an excellent place to visit with family, especially if you have kids. The sanctuary is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna species, including tigers, elephants, sloth bears, and the Malabar giant squirrel. You can take a jungle safari tour with the kids and spot wildlife in their natural habitat. In addition, there's a large dam within the sanctuary that offers boating facilities to tourists.

You can also go on a coffee plantation tour and learn about how coffee is grown and processed. If you have less time, skip Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary and explore the town of Chikkamagaluru instead.
