Upon arrival at Mangalore Airport, head straight to the Nethravathi River Campsite. Located on the banks of the Nethravathi river, it is a picturesque location surrounded by rich flora and fauna. The camp offers a variety of outdoor activities from kayaking to trekking, and camping under the stars. One can also visit the nearby Magod Falls for a breathtaking view of the waterfall.
The Nethravathi Peak Trek is a must-do for adventure enthusiasts. This challenging trail takes you through dense forest, rocky terrain and steep inclines. The view from the top is worth the effort, as it offers a panoramic view of the Western Ghats. Visitors can also witness the sunrise and sunset from the summit.
If you have more time, you can add a visit to the Agumbe Rainforest Research Station, located around 2 hours from Nethravathi Peak. You can also explore the nearby Kudremukh National Park, which is around 2.5 hours from Nethravathi River Campsite.
For those with less time, skip the Magod Falls and spend more time at the Nethravathi Peak summit.
