4-Day Adventure Itinerary for Varkala and Wayanad

  1. Day 1: Varkala Cliff Beach
    1-hour drive from Trivandrum International Airport
    Start your trip by basking in the views of the Arabian Sea from the Varkala Cliff Beach. The beach is surrounded by cliffs, coconut trees, and shacks. You can spend your morning surfing, swimming, and sunbathing. In the afternoon, wander around the cliff-top shops or take a dip in the natural spring water at the Varkala Tunnel.
  2. Day 2: Chembra Peak Trekking
    7-hour drive from Varkala
    Wake up early and gear up for an adventurous trek on the highest peak in Wayanad- Chembra Peak. The trek is around 4-5 hours, but the view from the peak is worth it! There's also a heart-shaped lake on the way to the top. After the trek, relax by the waterfalls nearby.
  3. Day 3: Edakkal Caves Exploration
    1.5 hour drive from Chembra Peak
    Go on an archaeological exploration of the prehistoric Edakkal Caves. The caves have a historical and spiritual significance. It is a moderate trek to reach the caves, and once you get there, you'll find ancient rock carvings and a fantastic view of Wayanad. Later you can visit the nearby Soochipara waterfalls to rejuvenate yourself!
  4. Day 4: Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary
    2-hour drive from Edakkal Caves
    On the last day, take a jungle safari at the Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary. You can spot elephants, tigers, leopards, and various species of birds. The sanctuary is home to a large population of endangered species. Afterward, visit the nearby Pookode Lake, go boating, and indulge in some souvenir shopping at the local markets.
