Start your bachelorette trip at the spectacular Chembra Peak, one of the highest peaks in Wayanad. The trek to the top takes about 3 hours, but it is worth it for the breathtaking panoramic views. At the top, you will see a heart-shaped lake that is a popular spot for photo ops. Note that the trek is only open from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and due to the high altitude, it is recommended to bring warm clothing and hiking shoes.
Cool off and relax at the Soochipara Waterfalls. The falls are surrounded by lush green forests and rock formations, and there are plenty of opportunities to take a dip in the refreshing water. There is a small entrance fee and the falls close at 5:00 PM.
Start your second day with a visit to the Banasura Sagar Dam, India's largest earth dam. The surrounding mountains and the reservoir itself create a stunning scenery. You can enjoy various activities here, including speedboat rides and kayaking. It is open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
End your trip with a visit to the Thirunelli Temple, an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. This temple is located in a peaceful spot and is surrounded by pristine forests. You can also take a dip in the nearby Papanasini river, believed to have purifying properties. The temple is open from 5:30 AM to 12:00 PM and from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM.
If you have more time, add a visit to the Edakkal Caves, which are a unique historical site with ancient inscriptions. For a more adventurous bachelorette, go for a jungle camping experience near the Banasura Sagar Dam. If you have less time, consider skipping one of the stops. The Chembra Peak trek is challenging, so make sure to bring plenty of water and snacks. It is also recommended to hire a guide. Wear comfortable shoes for the waterfall visit and keep in mind that the path can be slippery. Arrive at the temple in the early morning or evening for a tranquil experience.
