A trip to Alibaug is incomplete without visiting the famous Alibaug Beach. Located in the heart of the city, the beach is a paradise for water-sport enthusiasts with activities like Paragliding, Banana Boat Rides, and Jet Skiing. Relax on the golden sand or take a stroll near the Arabian Sea, as it makes the perfect spot for enjoying the sunrise and sunset alike.
In the morning, take a trip to the Kolaba Fort, a major historical site that can be accessed via boats only during low tide. The fort is now in ruins but is an excellent spot for photography, with breathtaking views of the surrounding sea. In the evening, take a walk through the local bazaars near the fort, offering a variety of artisanal items such as Kolhapuri chappals, sarees, and local food items.
End your trip with a visit to the serene and calm Kanakeshwar Forest, a popular trekking destination. The forest trek is enjoyable throughout the year, with a beautiful view of the Arabian Sea from- top-along with the fresh Shiva temple near the caves. During monsoons, the forest is lush, with beautiful flora and fauna. Have a picnic in nature before heading back to Mumbai.
If you have more time, add a visit to the Varsoli Beach, which is much less crowded than Alibaug Beach and is an excellent location for a morning stroll. Also, if you enjoy bird watching, visit the wetlands near the Akshi Beach. If you plan to visit during monsoons, pack light rain gear as it's the best time to visit Alibaug. If you have less time, opt for Alibaug Beach, Kolaba Fort, and visit a nearby restaurant serving seafood for lunch.
