Start the trip with a hike up to the Chembra Peak, the highest peak in Wayanad. It's a difficult trek, but the view from the top is worth it. You can also take a guided trek to the heart-shaped Chembra Lake. The trek/tour takes around 5-6 hours and permits are required as there is a limit on the number of trekkers per day.
The Edakkal Caves is a natural wonder located in the Ambukuthi Hills. The caves are famous for their prehistoric rock art, which is over 8000 years old. To reach the caves, there's a 1 km trek up the hill. The trail is adorned with beautiful views of the Wayanad flora and fauna.
Banasura Sagar Dam is a popular tourist destination in Wayanad. The dam is situated amidst the Banasura hills and is the largest earth dam in India. A boat ride in the serene waters of the dam can be arranged. You can visit the nearby Banasura hill for a light trek and a stunning view of the dam and its surroundings.
The Thirunelli Temple is a beautiful ancient temple located in the Brahmagiri hills. Surrounded by mountains and forests, the temple is a serene and peaceful place. You can take a dip in the nearby Papanasini river, which is considered holy.
If you have more time, include a trip to the Meenmutty waterfalls.
If you have less time, eliminate the Banasura Sagar Dam and opt for the nearby Kuruva Island instead.
