Visit Devprayag, which is a town located at the confluence of the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers. The town is well known for its historic and religious significance and provides a scenic drive from Rishikesh. You can take a dip in the holy waters of the Ganges to purify your soul.
Kedarnath, a Hindu Temple and part of the famous Kedarnath Yatra, is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. Perched at an altitude of around 3,583 meters above sea level, it is situated near the head of Mandakini River in the Garhwal Himalayas. The temple can be reached by a 16 km trek from Gaurikund and is accessible by helicopter too.
Badrinath is a holy town in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, and it is one of the Char Dhams in India. The town is known for the Badrinath Temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu, which was constructed in the 8th century. The temple is situated on the banks of the Alaknanda River and provides breathtaking views of the Himalayas.
Rishikesh, known as the "Gateway to the Garhwal Himalayas," is a mystical place in northern India, where the Ganges leaves the mountains and joins the plains. It is home to several ashrams, temples, and the Beatles Ashram. You can enjoy adventure sports like river rafting, bungee jumping, and camping here too.
If you have more time, then take a dip at the hot water springs in Gaurikund or visit the Guptkashi temple in Kedarnath. You can visit Mana Village, the last village before the India-China border, from Badrinath. You can add Haridwar, located around 20 km from Rishikesh, to your trip. If you have less time, then skip Devprayag or choose to visit only one site, i.e., either Kedarnath or Badrinath.
