Mykonos Old Town, also known as Chora, is a picturesque maze of narrow streets, whitewashed houses, and colourful flowered balconies. Start exploring the town from Alefkandra, known as the Little Venice of Mykonos, where you can enjoy the beautiful view of the Aegean Sea in front of you. Walk through the charming alleys to reach the iconic Mykonos Windmills where you can take some Instagram-worthy pictures. Continue walking towards the Panagia Paraportiani Church, a whitewashed church located at the water's edge, and discover its unique architecture. End your day with a sunset cocktail at Cavo Tagoo Hotel, a luxurious hotel with a stunning view of the sea.
When in Mykonos, you can't miss the amazing beaches. Start your day by visiting one of the most popular beaches, Paradise Beach where you can relax on sunbeds, swim in the crystal clear waters or try some water sports. Move on to Super Paradise Beach, a lively beach known for its party atmosphere and beautiful turquoise water. Alternatively, you can visit a quieter beach, Agios Sostis Beach, a remote and semi-organized beach ideal for a more peaceful day by the sea. Finish your day by exploring the Matogianni area where you can find shops, small art galleries and famous restaurants serving traditional Greek food.
If you have more time, consider visiting the Archaeological Museum of Mykonos, which houses archaeological finds from the island. Alternatively, take a day trip to the nearby island of Delos, one of Greece's most important archaeological sites. On the other hand, if you have less time, you can skip Agios Sostis beach, or the Matogianni area if you are not interested in shopping. Remember to wear comfortable shoes when exploring Mykonos Town as the streets are narrow and uneven.
