Your first day in Dharamastala will be spent sightseeing and getting to know the city’s cultural side. Begin with a visit to the Sri Manjunatha Temple, a must-go for religious tourists. This ancient temple exhibits the Dravidian architecture style and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Spend few hours exploring the temple, getting to know the history and culture of the region. Afterward, head to the impressive Bahubali Statue, located atop a hill and surrounded by beautiful scenery. Every Rajasthan traveler cannot miss this site; you can indulge in the peaceful surroundings and capture memories with panoramic views of the city.
On day two, immerse yourself in nature by visiting Kukke Subramanya Temple, set against the backdrop of the breathtaking Western Ghats Mountain Range. It is a serene setting, and also an essential pilgrimage site in South India. Next, take a short journey to Netravathi River to embark on a 2-hour paddling experience, kayaking on the river which is famed for its crystal clear waters and the surrounding lush greenery. End the tour, unwinding in Dharamastala's Mallige Cafe, famous for its delicious filter coffee and pastries.
On the final day, visit the nearby Soans Farm, less than an hour's drive from the city center. Witness the incredible range of organic agriculture practices with no usage of heavy chemicals or preservatives and understand it in detail via a guided tour. Spend the remaining hours at Manjusha Museum, that traces interesting insights of the cultural history of the Karnataka state. Take a few memories back home, with an optional photography session at your choice in the garden setting of the museum.
If you have extra time during your stay, you can visit the Gandi Kshetra Marga, most loved picnic spots by locals surrounded by lush green trees. Adding a wildlife sanctuary visit at Bhadra Tiger Reserve or an activity day at a nearby beach at the Arabian sea can be perfect for day trips. If you are short on time, remove any activity from day two. Rural India is known for its authentic local food. Make sure to try and explore regional cuisine which Dharamastala has to offer.
