Admire the sunrise in the Kolukkumalai Tea Estate, which is located at 8000ft above sea level, making it one of the highest tea estates in the world. Sip on the fresh tea and take in the breathtaking views of the valley. Next, visit the Kolukkumalai Sunrise Point for some amazing views of the sunrise and the valley. Don't miss the Kolukkumalai Jeep Safari through the tea estates, which offers a closer look at the production of tea leaves, tea factories and the scenic beauty of the region.
If you have more time, you can visit the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary in Thekkady, which is about 80 km from Meghamalai. If you have less time, you can skip Suruli Falls and spend more time at the tea estates in Meghamalai. Have a good pair of shoes as you will be walking a lot in the tea estates. The jeep safari in Kolukkumalai can be expensive but it is worth it for the experience. Also, carry some cash with you as ATMs are scarce in these areas.
