Murudheswar is a town on the coast of the Arabian Sea famous for the second highest Shiva statue in the world, standing at 123 feet. The temple is situated at the beautiful Murudheswar beach with clear blue waters and a panoramic view of the sea. You can take a dip in the beach or try out the water sports like Jet Skiing, banana boat rides, and parasailing. The beach area is filled with stalls selling local snacks like Goli baji, Chicken ghee roast, and Neer Dosa to try out. In addition to the temple, you can visit Netrani Island, around 10 km away, is famous for its clear waters for snorkelling and scuba diving.
Mengaluru, also called Bangalore, is known for its pleasant climate and diverse cultures. Starting with the Bangalore Palace which looks fantastic with its Tudor-style architecture and the surrounding gardens to taking a stroll at Cubbon Park, which is filled with verdant flora and ideal for a picnic. You can also check out the Bull Temple, a Dravidian-style temple with the 4.6 m-tall statue of the sacred Nandi bull or pay a visit to Vidhana Soudha, the seat of the state legislature and a marvel of modern architecture. Also, don't forget to take a tour of the Lalbagh Botanical Garden which is packed with over 1000 unique plant species and is a photographer's delight.
If you have more time, you can visit the Mysore Palace, located at a 3-hour drive from Bangalore, and it is the most magnificent and attractive building in Mysore or pay a visit to the Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace located within the Bangalore Fort complex and is an excellent example of Indo-Islamic architecture. And for less track, you can skip Cubbon Park and Vidhana Soudha to explore restaurants serving local delicacies like Biryani, Masala Dosa, and Mysore Pak.
