The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden is a 66-acre garden on the southeastern shore of White Rock Lake. With over a dozen different gardens and an array of seasonal flowers, it's a beautiful place to visit any time of the year. Highlights include the Paseo de Flores, a shaded walkway surrounded by flowering trees and perennials, and the DeGolyer Garden Café, where you can enjoy a meal or a specialty cocktail with beautiful views of the gardens and White Rock Lake.
The Perot Museum of Nature and Science offers a hands-on learning experience for visitors of all ages. With 11 exhibit halls covering everything from gems and minerals to robotics, there is something for everyone to enjoy. The highlight of the museum is the T. Boone Pickens Life Then and Now Hall, which features interactive displays on everything from dinosaurs to the human brain.
Trinity Groves is an entertainment and dining complex located on the west side of the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge. With over a dozen restaurants to choose from, including several with stunning rooftop patios, it's a great place to enjoy dinner and drinks with a view of the Dallas skyline. After dinner, take a walk along the bridge for even more great views.
The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza is dedicated to the life, death, and legacy of President John F. Kennedy. Located on the sixth floor of the former Texas School Book Depository, the museum includes exhibits on the events of November 22, 1963, as well as Kennedy's life and presidency. Visitors can also look out the window onto Dealey Plaza, where Kennedy was assassinated.
Klyde Warren Park is a 5.2-acre park located in downtown Dallas. Built over a highway, the park features a variety of amenities including a children's park, a dog park, a putting green, and several food trucks. Visitors can also participate in daily exercise classes, free yoga, or enjoy a book from the Reading and Games Room. Guided tours of the park are available on weekends.
If you have extra time, consider visiting the Dallas World Aquarium. It is a short drive from the Perot Museum and can be done in an hour or two. For art lovers, check out the Dallas Museum of Art, about a 15-minute drive from the Sixth Floor Museum. If you have less time, skip Trinity Groves and instead enjoy a leisurely afternoon at Klyde Warren Park.
