Guruvayoor - One Day Itinerary

1. 8:00AM - Guruvayur Temple
   This ancient temple is dedicated to Lord Guruvayurappan, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. It is one of the most popular pilgrimage sites in South India and welcomes thousands of devotees every day. Make sure to follow the dress code and remove your footwear before entering the temple.

2. 9:30AM - Elephant Sanctuary
   The Punnathurkotta Elephant Sanctuary is home to more than 60 elephants. Visitors can watch the elephants eating, bathing, and being trained. It's a unique opportunity to get up close with these gentle giants and learn more about their way of life.

   Distance from Guruvayur Temple: 2.5 km | Time: 20 minutes.

3. 11:00AM - Chavakkad Beach
   Located near the Chavakkad town in Thrissur District, Chavakkad Beach is a picturesque spot that draws visitors looking for some relaxation and fun. The beach is known for its serene beauty and it is less crowded compared to other beaches in Kerala.

   Distance from Elephant Sanctuary: 6.5 km | Time: 15 minutes.

4. 1:00PM - Lunch at Krishna Inn
   This vegetarian restaurant is located just a few steps away from Guruvayur Temple. The restaurant offers a wide range of South Indian, North Indian, and Chinese dishes which are prepared in a clean and hygienic environment.

   Distance from Chavakkad Beach: 17 km | Time: 30 minutes.

5. 3:00PM - Mammiyoor Temple
   Located near the main Guruvayur Temple, the Mammiyoor Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is believed that a visit to Guruvayur Temple is incomplete without visiting this temple. Non-Hindus are not allowed inside the temple.

   Distance from Krishna Inn: 1 km | Time: 5 minutes.

6. 4:30PM - Thiruvenkitam Temple
   The Thiruvenkitam Temple is located on a hill and provides a panoramic view of Guruvayur town. The temple is dedicated to Lord Venkitachalapathy, a form of Lord Vishnu. Visitors can climb the hill and enjoy the scenic views.

   Distance from Mammiyoor Temple: 2.5 km | Time: 15 minutes.
