Begin your adventure in the serene hills of Vagamon with a trek to the Murugan Mala. The 3 km trek takes you through lush green forests, and ends at the Murugan temple. From the top, enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding hills, and the Vagamon town below. On your way back to town, drive to the Pine Hills Eco-tourism spot to explore a picturesque landscape of pine forests.
Experience a thrilling adventure of paragliding in the beautiful hills of Kolahalamedu. Get a bird's eye view of Vagamon's lush green hills and forests, and feel the wind in your hair. The flying season is from September to February. For those not comfortable with paragliding, trek to the Vagamon Meadows and enjoy the scenic beauty of the mountains.
Embark on a thrilling jeep safari through the steep slopes and rugged terrains of the Western Ghats to reach the Periyar National Park in Thekkady. The park is known for its rich biodiversity and is home to many rare species of flora and fauna. Take a boat ride in the Periyar lake, and try to spot some animals in their natural habitat. Return back to Vagamon by evening.
End your adventure trip with rock climbing in the Amruthamedu Rocks. The rock faces provide a challenge to both novice and experienced rock climbers. Under expert supervision, climb the rocks and enjoy the beautiful view of green valleys below. After lunch, enjoy a leisurely walk in the Murugan Para hills before ending your trip in Vagamon town.
If you have more time, you can visit the Vagamon Falls on Day 1, and explore the Idukki Wildlife Sanctuary on Day 3. For a relaxed trip, you can spend an entire day in the Vagamon town, and explore the local markets, and try the local cuisines. If you have less time, you can skip the Paragliding in Kolahalamedu and spend an extra day for trekking in Vagamon, or skip the Off-road Jeep Safari to Thekkady and spend a day exploring the historic sites in Pala.
