The Tea Museum is a great place for families to learn about the history and production of tea. Take a short drive to the Mattupetty Dam for boating. Kids will love the speedboat rides and the beautiful view of the dam.
Echo Point is a beautiful place to relax and enjoy nature with family. The spot gets its name from echoes that are generated when sounds reach the hill. Take a short drive to the Kundala Lake for fun activities like boating, trout fishing and horse riding.
Take a jeep safari in the morning at the Eravikulam National Park to see Nilgiri tahr. Later, drive to the Pothamedu ViewPoint to witness a picturesque view of the valley and tea plantations. You can also go parasailing here.
The Kolukkumalai Tea Estate offers a unique experience for families by showing them the process of tea-making. If you have time, you can also trek to the top of the Anamudi Peak - the highest peak in South India. The trek is not recommended for children and takes around 5 hours.
The Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary is famous for its rare wildlife - spotted deer, Elephants,etc. Have a picnic in the park and enjoy the scenery. Later, drive to the beautiful Lakkom Waterfalls, which is a great spot to cool off after a long day.
Start the day with the impressive Attukad Waterfalls, which is surrounded by lush green vegetation and streams. Next, visit the Rose Garden to see the colourful and fragrant flowers. Kids especially love it here as they get to spot lots of butterflies and insects.
If you have more time, you can visit other interesting places, such as Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary and Top Station. If you have less time, you can combine the Tea Museum with the Mattupetty Dam on the same day. Wear comfortable shoes, carry light jackets, sunscreen, and water during the trip.
