Start your day at Debrecen Market, where you can find an array of fresh produce, homemade bread, and local sausages. Don't forget to try the famous chimney cake (kürtőskalács) for breakfast!
The Déri Museum houses some of the greatest art pieces from Hungary and Europe. The art gallery displays the works of Chagall, Miró, and some famous Hungarian painters. The building is also a perfect example of Hungarian Art Deco architecture.
For lunch try one of Debrecen's finest restaurants, Bocuse. The menu is filled with traditional Hungarian delicacies as well as modern twists on international cuisine. Don't forget to try the "Jókai" bean soup and the homemade strudels!
The MODEM Centre for Modern and Contemporary Arts is a must-visit for art enthusiasts. The museum's permanent collection includes works by Picasso, Andy Warhol, and Salvador Dali, as well as exhibitions by contemporary artists.
End your day with a delicious Italian dinner at Trattoria Toscana. Here you can find some of the most authentic Italian pizza, pasta, antipasti, and tiramisu. And if you're lucky enough, you can even hear some of the local musicians play live music!
If you have more time, you can also visit Debrecen's Great Reformed Church and the Béla Bartók Memorial House. But if you're short on time, you can skip the Déri Museum or the MODEM Centre for Modern and Contemporary Arts. Also, if you're visiting during the summer, don't miss out on the Anna Festival!
