If you're a history buff, then Colaba Fort is a must-visit. Built-in the 16th century by the Siddis, the fort stands tall on an island, making for a picturesque location. Take a ferry from Alibaug beach to the fort, and enjoy a stroll around the ancient monument. Climb atop to witness the breathtaking view of the Arabian sea and the town. Do stop by the museum to delve into the fort's past.
If you have an extra day, consider a visit to Versoli Beach. Watersports equipment can be easily rented from the locals here.
If you have less time, skip Kolaba Fort and visit Murud-Janjira Fort, an hour's drive (55 km) from Alibaug. You can witness the magnificently crafted fort that stood unconquered for centuries.
