2-Day Family Friendly Itinerary from Chennai to Ooty

  1. Day 1: Doddabetta Peak

    Doddabetta Peak is the highest mountain in the Nilgiri Hills and offers stunning views of the surrounding area. Take a scenic drive up to the summit, which stands at an impressive 8,650 feet. The observation tower provides a 360-degree view of the landscape including nearby hills and the sprawling valley below. From here, you can hike along the trails that lead to the Toda settlements or take a leisurely stroll around the gardens at the base of the peak.

  2. Day 2: Government Botanical Garden
    23 minutes (4.6 km) from Ooty

    The Government Botanical Garden is a beautiful landscaped garden spread over 55 acres. There are more than a thousand species of plants and trees including rare species like the Paperbark tree and the Monkey Puzzle tree. The garden also has some beautiful greenhouses housing many rare and exotic orchids, ferns and cacti. It's a great place to pack a picnic and escape the hustle of city life, with plenty of space for children to run around and explore.
