Start your day by driving to Anegundi Fort located in the Anegundi village. The fort was built in the 16th century and offers breathtaking views of Hampi. Next, drive to the base of Anjaneya Hill, a holy site said to be the birthplace of Lord Hanuman. The 600 steps to reach the top can be challenging but the stunning views at the top are worth every step. Spend some time here to take in the beauty of the surroundings before heading back down.
Today, we're going to get up close with nature at Hampi Waterfalls. Take a dip in the cool water and relax as you take in the beauty of the surroundings. Afterward, head to the Tungabhadra river's banks, where you can rent a coracle or go on a boat ride. As the sun sets, make your way to the Vitthala Temple, one of the most beautiful temples in Hampi.
Embark on a jeep safari in the Daroji Sloth Bear Sanctuary, a habitat of Indian Sloth bears. You can also spot other animals like leopards, Indian porcupine and pangolin. After the safari, visit Matanga Hill, which is the highest point in Hampi, providing a stunning panoramic view of the Hampi city. Watch the sunset from the hill.
If you have more time, spend an additional day exploring the Hampi World Heritage Site, or visit the Sanapur Lake which is 7 km from Hampi. If time is limited, skip the Daroji Sloth Bear Sanctuary and spend more time exploring Hampi, or opt for a shorter coracle ride instead of a longer boat ride on the Tungabhadra River. Pack plenty of sunscreen and drinking water when exploring nature.
