The Real Alcázar is the oldest royal palace still in use in Europe. This stunning palace is a testament to a bygone era with its intricate tile work, gardens filled with orange trees, fountains and several banquet halls. There is something magical about the Real Alcázar, and it's not hard to understand why it's used in Game of Thrones as Dorne.
The Seville Cathedral is the largest cathedral in the world and also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This historic church is admired for its incredible architecture and houses the tomb of the intrepid explorer Christopher Columbus. The stunning Plaza de España is one of the most iconic landmarks in Seville. Built-in 1928, the square astounds with its decorative brickwork, majestic tower and elaborate bridges. Admire the beauty of the square and take a boat ride in the gorgeous moat surrounding the square.
The charming Barrio Santa Cruz is a historic area of Seville, adorned with narrow cobbled streets, Flowery patios and white-washed houses. This neighborhood offers a glimpse into the ancient past of the city's Jewish community and conquered Moorish era. After the walk, many cafes, bars and local stores are a good place to sit and relax and enjoy the afternoon in a cozy spot.
Metropol Parasol, also known as Las Setas, is a fantastic architectural wonder and an ideal spot to watch the stunning sunset views of Seville. It is also the largest wooden structure in the world. If you have more time in Sevilla, consider visiting the Torre del Oro or the charming Triana neighborhood across the river Guadalquivir. If you have less time, you can skip the Metropol Parasol or Barrio Santa Cruz, but we'd highly recommend visiting the Real Alcázar, Seville Cathedral, and the stunning Plaza de España - they're true gems of the city.
