Start your day by visiting the Talacauvery, the origin of the holy river Cauvery. The temple here is situated amidst lush greenery, and the drive to the temple is scenic. After the Talacauvery, head to the Bhagamandala Temple. It's a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and is situated near the confluence of Cauvery and Kannika rivers. The peaceful and calm ambiance of the temple is enough to relax your mind. You can also take a dip in the holy river. Don't forget to try the famous 'prasadam' here, which is a mix of spices, edible camphor, and jaggery.
Spend a peaceful morning with the elephants at the Dubare Elephant Camp. You can interact, feed and even bathe the elephants. The experience of walking along with them and engrossing in their playful activities is one to cherish. After spending time with elephants, head over to the Golden Temple at Bylakuppe. It's the largest Nyingmapa Tibetan Monastery in India. The stunning architecture of the temple, the colorful decor, and the immense peace and tranquillity here will leave you awestruck. You can also enjoy some delicious momos and hot tea in the monastery canteen.
If you have more time, you can check out the Abbey Falls and Raja's Seat in Madikeri, or go trekking in the beautiful coffee plantations. If you have less time, you can switch Bhagamandala Temple with Talacauvery and spend some more time with the elephants in Dubare Elephant Camp or meditate in the peaceful Golden Temple Bylakuppe. Don't forget to carry comfortable clothes and footwear and carry adequate snacks and beverages if you plan to spend more time in any place.
