Nature lovers will absolutely adore the Neyyar Wildlife Sanctuary, home to a wide variety of animals, birds, and plants. The sanctuary houses tigers, elephants, leopards, and antelopes, among others, along with a large number of avian species. You can also check out a crocodile farm and a lion safari park here. The sanctuary is perfect for trekking and boating too, giving you a great opportunity to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Kerala.
If you have more time to spare, visit the Thiruvananthapuram Zoo, a well-maintained zoological park with a large number of indigenous animals such as lions, tigers, and elephants. Another interesting option is the Vellayani Lake, a breathtakingly beautiful lake surrounded by coconut groves and green hills. If you have less time, skip Neyyar Wildlife Sanctuary and head straight to Shanghumukham Beach instead, which is closer to Sree Padmanabha Swamy Kovil.
