Breathtaking Nature in Coorg

  1. Day 1: Dubare Elephant Camp

    Dubare Elephant Camp is a forest camp on the banks of the river Cauvery. You can learn about elephants' routine and care for them. There are several engaging activities that Elephant Camp offers, including elephant feeding, elephant rides and coracle rides. Here, you can also observe the elephants getting their daily bath.

  2. Day 1: Abbey Falls

    Abbey Falls, one of the most beautiful and famous falls in Coorg, is located in a valley surrounded by coffee and tea plantations. The waterfall, which is about 70 feet tall, plunges into pools of water over rocky terrain, creating a stunning backdrop for photography.

  3. Day 1: Raja's Seat

    Raja's Seat offers an exceptional view of the sunset. The estate, which was once exclusively for the kings of Kodagu, features beautiful gardens, fountains and a seasonal floral show. You can sit on the seat while enjoying the scenery of the green hills and the blue skies.

  4. Day 2: Nisargadhama Forest

    Nisargadhama is a small island formed by the river Cauvery. The entire island is covered with dense bamboo forests and teak and rosewood trees. Visitors can explore the island by crossing the hanging bridge and can also indulge in various activities like boating, elephant rides and more.

  5. Day 2: Namdroling Monastery
    2:00 PM (35 km from Nisargadhama Forest)

    The Namdroling Monastery, a beautiful Tibetan Buddhist Monastery in Coorg, is one of the largest teaching centers of the Nyingma lineage of Tibetan Buddhism in the world. The temple is decorated with colorful murals, and several traditional Tibetan butter lamps burn inside its halls. Visitors can peacefully stroll around the temple and volunteer in the main prayer hall.

  6. Day 2: Talakaveri
    4:30 PM (50 km from Namdroling Monastery)

    Talakaveri, located in the Brahmagiri hills, is the birthplace of the river Kaveri. It's a popular tourist spot in Coorg because of its tranquil surroundings and scenic beauty. There's a tank (the source of the river) and a small temple dedicated to Lord Igguthappa on top of the hill which is accessible via a flight of steps.

If you have more time, visit the Omkareshwara Temple, Madikeri Fort, and Chiklihole Reservoir. In case you run out of time, skip the Elephant Camp and Abbey Falls.
