Hirekolale Lake is a beautiful artificial lake surrounded by lush greenery and is a popular picnic spot in Chikmangalore. You can enjoy boating and fishing on the lake, take leisurely walks along the lakeshore and enjoy the serene surroundings. There are several small tea stalls and food vendors nearby serving delicious snacks and refreshments.
Mullayanagiri Peak is the highest peak in Karnataka, which offers spectacular views of the surrounding hills and valleys. You can either undertake the strenuous trek to the top or hire a jeep to reach the peak. The trek is a bit steep and challenging, but the stunning view from the top is worth the effort. There is also a small temple dedicated to Lord Shiva at the summit of the peak.
If you have extra time, you can visit other popular places in Chikmangalore such as Baba Budangiri, Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary, and the Coffee Museum. However, make sure to check their opening and closing times beforehand. For those with less time, we recommend reducing the itinerary to one day and choosing between the two locations based on your interests.
