Volunteering Itinerary - Bangalore to Pondicherry

  1. Day 1: Visit and Volunteer at Auroville
    8.5 hours (310 km) from Bangalore

    Start your first day by visiting Auroville, an experimental township where people from all over the world live and work towards a common goal of human unity and transformation. After orientation and learning about their vision, explore the town and its various activities. Join in for an afternoon volunteering session in one of the community's sustainable development projects. Conclude the day with delicious food at the Solar Kitchen, which is run on solar energy.

  2. Day 2: Coastal Cleanup and Visit to Aurobindo Ashram
    1.5 hours (5 km) from Auroville, 4 hours (160 km) back to Bangalore

    Start your day by giving back to the community and engage in a coastal cleanup campaign in the morning. Later, visit the Aurobindo Ashram, founded by Sri Aurobindo and the Mother, where people come to seek spiritual guidance. The ashram consists of several buildings, including a library, a playground, and a meditation hall. Visitors can meditate and soak in the tranquil environment. End your trip by having a dip in the Bay of Bengal and lunch at one of the cafes in Promenade Beach before heading back to Bangalore.
