15-Day Itinerary for Belgium

  • Day 1: Brussels
    From Brussels Airport, take train to Brussels Central Station for 20 minutes, then it takes 10 minutes by foot

  • Day 2: Bruges
    From Brussels Central Station, take train to Bruges for 1 hour and 10 minutes

    From Ghent train station, take a train to Antwerp for 55 minutes

  • Day 5: Dinant
    From Antwerp Central Station, take a train to Dinant for 1 hour and 50 minutes

    Spend a day discovering the beautiful town of Dinant, start with the stunning Citadel of Dinant, a fortified castle from the 11th century.   • Day 6: Durbuy

  • Day 7: Leuven
    From Durbuy bus station, take a bus to Barvaux for 15 minutes then take a train to Leuven for 40 minutes

    Discover the vibrant university city of Leuven, visit the UNESCO World Heritage Groot Begijnhof, which is one of the best preserved beguinages in Europe. Walk around the city center and visit St. Peter's Church, filled with Baroque art, For some beer culture and history, visit the Stella Artois Brewery and tasting the beer from the brewery.   • Day 8: Waterloo
    From Leuven train station, take a train to Waterloo for 1 hour and 5 minutes

    Visit the site of one of the most significant battles in European history at The Battle of Waterloo memorial. Learn about how Napoleon's army was defeated, visit the exhibition space "Wellington Museum,” which houses memorabilia from the battle. Afterwards, visit the beautiful Castle of Hougoumont, which was a crucial part of the battle at Waterloo.

  • Day 9: Le Château de la Hulpe
    From Waterloo train station, take a train to Genval for 10 minutes then take a bus to Le Chateau de la Hulpe for 10 minutes

  • Day 11: Bouillon
    From Namur Train station, take a train to Libramont for 1 hour and 5 minutes, then take a bus to Bouillon for 45 minutes

Next, visit the Archeoscope Godefroid de Bouillon, which provides insight into crusaders and the first crusades taken from the perspective of Godefroid de Bouillon.   • Day 12: Liege

  • Day 13: Bastogne War Museum
    From Liege Train station, take a train to Marloie for 1 hour and 15 minutes then take a bus to Bastogne War Museum for 10 minutes

    Experience history at the fascinating Bastogne War Museum detailing the Battle of the Bulge in World War II. You can explore artifacts and interactive exhibitions and understand what the war was like for soldiers and civilians.

  • Day 14: Braine L'Alleud
    From Bastogne War museum, take a bus to Marloie for 10 minutes, then take a train to Braine-L'Alleud for 2 hour and 27 minutes

    Visit the historic site of Waterloo Battlefield, which was the site of the Battle of Waterloo. The site is now a museum that provides insight into the war, the soldiers, and the events leading up to and following the battle. Later, go to the Folon Foundation museum.

  • Day 15: Charleroi
    From Braine L'Alleud train station, take a train to Charleroi for 30 minutes
