Visitors can also shop for spices and antique souvenirs in the markets nearby.
The Hill Palace Museum is the largest archeological museum in Kerala and has a vast collection of artifacts, including ancient weapons and paintings. The Mangalavanam Bird Sanctuary is home to several migratory birds and a variety of flora and fauna. Visitors can enjoy a serene walk around the lake or indulge in a boat ride.
If you have more time, take a boat ride on the backwaters or visit the Santa Cruz Basilica and Dutch Palace. For those with less time, combine Hill Palace Museum and Mangalavanam Bird Sanctuary on day 2 or skip Mangalavanam altogether. Don't forget to try the local seafood and tea!
