Located near the border of Tamil Nadu, Meesapulimala is the second-highest peak in the Western Ghats of India. It is an adventure trek with serene landscapes, steep hills, and misty forests. The trek starts from the Rhodo valley and takes you through the wildflower meadows of the Silent Valley. Reaching the peak requires the application of environmental clearance from the Kerala Forest Department. Camp at the top, or enjoy a BBQ party with a warm bonfire at the campsite.
If you have an extra day, you can visit the Cheeyappara and Valara waterfalls, the Blossom Park, and the Kundala Lake. Alternatively, spend an extra day outdoors with activities such as paragliding, ziplining, ATV ride, or visiting the Anamudi Shola National Park. If you have less time, then opt for shorter treks such as Chokramundi peak or Thoovanam waterfalls. Remember to bring sunscreen and hats, and book your accommodation in advance in the peak seasons to avoid disappointment.
