Begin your nature adventure by visiting the Mullayangiri peak, the highest point in Karnataka. With an estimated elevation of 6360 feet, you can trek up to the top and enjoy the panoramic views of the Western Ghats. Then, head over to the Baba Budangiri hills nearby and visit the revered shrine of Dattatreya Peetha. Enjoy the stunning views while sipping a cup of local coffee at the hilltop.
Spend a day amidst nature by visiting the stunning Kudremukh National Park. Trek up the Kudremukh peak and enjoy the beautiful waterfalls and dense greenery that surround the park. Keep an eye out for wildlife like sambar deer, gaurs, and Malabar giant squirrels. Remember that the park is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
End your nature-packed trip with a visit to the Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary. With lush green forests, waterfalls, and streams, it is home to several species of birds, tigers, leopards, and elephants. After your safari, head over to the nearby Hebbe Falls, surrounded by coffee and tea plantations. Be sure to carry a change of clothes if you'd like to take a dip!
If you have more time, consider exploring other waterfalls in Chikmagalur like Jhari falls or Kadambi falls. For coffee lovers, visit a coffee plantation and witness the coffee-making process. You can subtract Kudremukh National Park if you are short on time, but be sure to visit at least one of the wildlife sanctuaries. Keep in mind that most places in Chikmagalur close by 6 pm, so plan your itinerary accordingly!
