Exploring Nature in Wayanad in 3 Days

  1. Day 1: Banasura Sagar Dam

    Built on the Banasura river, this is the largest earth dam in India and the second-largest in Asia. It's a perfect spot for boating, trekking, and camping with a magnificent view of the Banasura hills covered with thick forests. You can enjoy various water sports activities like kayaking, speed boating and more, or walk on the dam to witness the lush green valleys.

  2. Day 2: Thusharagiri Falls
    1 hour 30 minutes (56.8 km) from Banasura Sagar Dam

    An excellent option for adventure enthusiasts and trekkers with stunning waterfalls, picturesque landscape, and dense forests. Trekking to the waterfall takes about two hours. The trek route has three waterfalls for sightseeing and ideal for rafting too. The name 'Thusharagiri' means snow-capped mountains, so-called as the waterfalls seem like sheets of snow amidst the forest.

  3. Day 3: Kuruva Island
    50 minutes (24.2 km) from Thusharagiri Falls

    A group of islands forming the Kuruva Dweep, surrounded with streams and river deltas and an essential part of the Kerala eco-tourism project. The island is rich in flora and fauna, and you can explore it by taking a bamboo raft to cross over the streams and rivers visually reaching its peak during monsoons. You can also engage in birdwatching or set up a picnic on the island.
