The Ooty Botanical Gardens, established in 1848, is a beautiful garden sprawling over 22 hectares with more than 650 species of flowers and trees. Spend a few hours exploring the garden and the Toda Tribal Village, which is located within it. Don't forget to take a camera!
The Doddabetta Peak is the highest mountain peak in the Nilgiri Hills at an altitude of 2,637 meters. You can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding landscape from the telescope house and take pictures. Try some of the local snacks and tea at the small restaurant nearby.
The Sim's Park in Coonoor is a well-maintained botanical garden with over 1,000 species of plants and trees. You can enjoy a leisurely walk through the park and take some amazing snaps. The highlight is the annual fruit and vegetable show that takes place in May. This is a great place to stop and relax before heading back.
If you have more time, consider visiting the Thread Garden near the Ooty Botanical Gardens or the Lamb's Rock near Coonoor. If you have less time, you can skip the Doddabetta Peak and spend more time at the Ooty Botanical Gardens. Remember to wear comfortable walking shoes and carry a water bottle.
