Start your first day of exploration with a visit to the Dutch Palace, also known as Mattancherry Palace, originally built in the 16th century by the Portuguese. Spend your second day exploring the historic town of Fort Kochi. Begin your journey at the St. Francis Church, the oldest European church in India. From there, walk towards the famous Chinese Fishing Nets which are an iconic symbol of the Kochi coastline. Later, visit the Fort Kochi Beach and take in the beautiful views of the Arabian Sea. End your day with a visit to the Santa Cruz Basilica. This historic church, built in the 16th century, is an architectural marvel blending Indian and European styles.
If you have extra time, take a ferry ride to Vypeen Island and visit the Vypin lighthouse. You can also spend time exploring the local food scene and try some of the popular dishes such as Parotta and Fish Curry.
