Begin your trip by visiting the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Old Goa. Once the Portuguese capital of India, Old Goa is filled with magnificent churches boasting Baroque architecture including the iconic Se Cathedral and Basilica of Bom Jesus where St. Francis Xavier's mortal remains are kept. Enjoy a stroll through the gardens of Viceroy's Arch and Dona Paula Jetty, marvel at the beautiful sculptures and antique exhibits in Goa State Museum, and indulge in some authentic Goan delicacies in the neighborhood.
Experience the natural beauty of Goa by taking a morning boat ride along the Chapora River, where you'll see quaint fishing villages and mangrove forests. Then drive to the lush Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary for a scenic trek to the stunning Dudhsagar Falls, one of the tallest waterfalls in India. Enjoy a refreshing swim in the pristine water and savor a picnic lunch of traditional Goan snacks. Take a leisurely stroll through the spice plantations before heading back to the city.
If you have additional time, add a visit to the Fontainhas, Goa's Latin Quarter, famous for its vibrant colored heritage houses, narrow streets and quaint eateries. If you have less time, Seal Island, Anjuna Beach, and Calangute Beach are great alternatives. During the monsoon season (June-Sept), Dudhsagar Falls may be closed to visitors for safety reasons, so it's best to check ahead for a safe and enjoyable journey.
