Ladakh Motorcycle Riding Weeklong Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Mumbai to Amritsar
    12 hours (840 km)

    Start from Mumbai at 5am and reach Amritsar by 5pm, visit the Golden Temple for the evening prayers at 7 pm.

  2. Day 2: Amritsar to Dharamshala
    5 hours (210 km)

    Leave Amritsar early morning and reach Dalai Lama Temple Complex in McLeod Ganj by afternoon. Explore the town by bike.

  3. Day 3: Dharamshala to Jispa
    9 hours (220 km)

    This is a long stretch but one of the best, pass through Bhagsunag, Dhauladhar range, Rohtang Pass, Keylong and finally reach Jispa before evening.

  4. Day 4: Jispa to Leh
    10 hours (360 km)

    Travel north into the Greater Himalayan landscape passing through several villages and mountain passes. Reach Leh by evening.

  5. Day 5: Visit Monasteries in Leh
    4 hours (45 km)

    Explore the spiritual side of Ladakh through visits to Thiksey Monastery, Hemis Monastery and Leh Palace.

  6. Day 6: Leh to Nubra Valley
    5 hours (120 km)

    Take the off-beaten path to the stunning Nubra Valley via the Khardung La pass, one of the highest in the world. Visit the dunes for Camel Safari in Hunder.

  7. Day 7: Nubra Valley to Leh
    6 hours (160 km)

    Return to Leh via a different route with a visit to Sumur Monastery. Stay in Leh or move to Srinagar or Manali for return travel.

Useful Tips

If you have more time, visit Pangong Tso Lake, Tso Moriri Lake, or plan a day of rafting. If you have less time, skip Dharamshala, and take an overnight bus from Amritsar to Leh. Always carry cash and warm clothes.
