Two-Day Itinerary for Alibaug (May 2023)

  1. Day 1: Alibaug Beach
    5 minutes (1.4 km) from Mandwa Jetty

    Start your Alibaug trip with a visit to the famous Alibaug Beach, which is a perfect place to relax and unwind. You can indulge in various water sports, such as jet ski, parasailing and boating. This beach has a spectacular view of the Colaba Fort and Khanderi and Undheri forts. You can also take a stroll in the nearby market and savour local delicacies.

  2. Day 1: Kolaba Fort
    15 minutes (5.7 km) from Alibaug Beach

    Next on the itinerary is a visit to the historic Kolaba Fort, which was built by Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in 1680. This fort is surrounded by the Arabian Sea on all sides and can be accessed during low tide. You can explore the various structures, such as a temple, a fresh-water well, and two big stone arches. Don't forget to take your camera to capture the stunning views of the sea and the fort.

  3. Day 1: Varsoli Beach
    20 minutes (5.7 km) from Kolaba Fort

    End your day with a relaxing walk on Varsoli Beach, which is less crowded than Alibaug Beach. You can relax, enjoy a sunset and savour the local street food. If you're interested, you can also go for a horse ride along the beach.

  4. Day 2: Kanakeshwar Forest and Temple
    25 minutes (8.5 km) from Varsoli Beach

    Begin your second day in Alibaug by exploring the lush green Kanakeshwar forest and the ancient Kanakeshwar temple. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is located at the top of a hill. You can trek to the temple, which is a challenging climb, but the view from the top is worth it. You can also spot a variety of birds and butterflies in the forest.

  5. Day 2: Nagaon Beach
    15 minutes (5.1 km) from Kanakeshwar Forest and Temple

    End your Alibaug trip with a visit to Nagaon Beach, which is known for its clean waters and water sports activities, such as banana boat rides and jet skiing. You can relax on the beach or enjoy a local seafood meal at the various eateries on the beach. If you're interested, you can also visit nearby attractions, such as the Birla Temple or the Akshi Beach.
