Transportation

For day trips, we recommend using trains or buses, which have a reasonable fare and excellent reliability throughout the city. Travel time estimates are included in the itinerary above. For best prices, we suggest booking a JR Rail Pass if you plan to travel outside of Tokyo. Taxis and rental cars are available but can be expensive and traffic can be dense during peak periods.

Useful Tips

If you have more time, consider visiting Asakusa district, which is known for its Ryogoku Kokugikan Sumo Stadium, and The Tsukiji Market, you can also take a day trip to Yokohama City. If you have less time to spend, prioritize the attractions that interest you the most and move around by taxi, but keep in mind that they can be costly.

Airports

Tokyo has two main airports, Narita International Airport (NRT) that is approximately 60 kilometers away from the city center, and Haneda Airport (HND) located closer, only 14 kilometers south of the city center.
