Brunate is a picturesque town located on a hill overlooking Como. It's easily accessible by funicular, which provides breathtaking views of the lake and the surrounding hills. Once you reach Brunate, take a stroll along the narrow cobbled streets and enjoy the stunning views. You can also visit the beautiful Chiesa di San Andrea, which dates back to the 17th century.
The Como-Brunate funicular is a historic cable railway that connects Como to Brunate. The funicular was built in 1894 and is one of the most popular attractions in the area. The ride takes just 7 minutes and provides amazing views of the lake and the surrounding mountains. Once you reach Como, be sure to explore the city's many shops and restaurants.
If you have more time, consider visiting other nearby towns, such as Bellagio or Varenna. Both towns can be reached by ferry from Como and offer stunning views of the lake. If you have less time, you can skip the Volta Temple and spend more time exploring the other attractions. Don't forget to bring comfortable shoes, as some of the attractions involve walking uphill or on uneven terrain.
