  1. Day 1: Agumbe Rainforest Research Station
20 minutes (6 miles) from Agumbe town

The Agumbe Rainforest Research Station is a perfect spot for adventure and learning experience for the whole family. The station allows visitors to learn about the western ghats – a biological hotspot with a remarkable ecosystem. The research station has various activities such as nature walk, bird watching, and visiting the nearby herpetarium. If you're a fan of Malgudi Days - a famous Indian TV series - this is the place where it was filmed.

  2. Day 2: Barkana Falls
1 hour and 30 minutes (37 miles) from Agumbe Rainforest Research Station

Barkana Falls is the tenth highest waterfall in India and is situated amidst the dense Western Ghats. The waterfall has a stunning view which is worth the excursion through the muddy trails. The ideal time to visit is during monsoon (June-September), however, it does attract large crowds. It's important to note that the water flow is not consistent and may vary by season. The waterfall is not accessible from December-February month due to heavy rain, thus it's best to visit in May.

  3. Day 3: Kundadri Hill and Jain Temple
1 hour and 18 minutes (34 miles) from Barkana Falls

Kundadri Hill, located in the Agumbe range, features a unique Jain Temple atop a hill. The hill presents beautiful views of the sunrise and sunset. It's also a great place for trekking with the family. The Jain temple at the peak has an ancient history attached to it, and visitors can explore the temple and learn its significance. The best time of day to visit is either early morning or late afternoon, to avoid the midday heat.
