Edakkal Caves are a major historical and archaeological site of Wayanad. The caves are famous for their ancient rock engravings, believed to be over 5000 years old. The trek to the caves is scenic and quite adventurous, making it an ideal location for nature-loving travelers.
Chembra Peak is the highest peak in Wayanad and offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding valleys and forests. The trek to the peak is a bit challenging but worth it for the serene and beautiful sight around. You can also witness a heart-shaped lake halfway up to the peak.
If you have more time, you can also visit other attractions in Wayanad, such as the Banasura Sagar Dam, Thusharagiri Waterfalls, and Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary. Alternatively, you can spend more time at the locations listed above by adding activities such as camping at Chembra Peak or taking a dip in the natural stream at Edakkal Caves.
